After holding two private “Town Hall” meetings Oregon State Senator Ginny Burdick is coming coming out of hiding. She has just sent out a missive which laughably reads:
Dear friends and neighbors:
As your State Senator, I value your opinions about the critical issues facing our state. To give us a better chance to discuss the work we’re doing in Salem…
blah, blah, blah…
One of Burdick’s last town halls was announced only at the retirement center where it was to be held and announced via her facebook page AFTERWARDS.
Where: City of Tigard Council Chambers, 13125 SW Hall Blvd, Tigard, OR 97223
When: April 18, 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Burdick has been hiding from constituents because of the blow back she’s gotten from her highly unpopular gun bills. She even went on the Al Sharpton cable show to complain about threats against her. Burdick has refused to show proof of these threats. My efforts to get proof of these threats she claims to have received were met with a note from the Legislative Counsel saying the State Senator was shielded from public records law until the legislature was over. Burdick could have released the so called threats had she wished to.
