Thug Life II: McMinnville Teachers Change Facebook Page to Appear Innocent in Firing of On Point Credit Union Mgr

See facebook redactions below
Earlier this week the McMinnville “Education” Association –the teachers union–was crowing about how their efforts paid off in getting Leslie Van Blaricom fired from On Point Credit Union (formerly Portland Teachers CU) for reading a letter they didn’t like at a recent school board meeting. (see post here).
Interesting that today when Eric talked to the head of the union (she answered her cell phone while teaching her class–who knew?) she went all Sgt Schultz on us contending the union had nothing to do with Van Blaricom’s firing. Sure. The union brought pressure on the credit union to fire the Chamber member –and registered democrat–for reading the letter which included this poison pill:

The district should not spend any additional money towards teacher salary and/or benefits if doing so will require the district to reduce teaching positions and increase classroom sizes to pay for them in order to meet its budget. We should hope the union would see the benefit of smaller class sizes on their members workload and student performance but to date, they have continued to insist on additional wage and benefit increases even though the district indicates that such demands could mean the loss of as many as 40+ teaching positions.
For reading that Chamber statement at the recent school board meeting, Van Blaricom became public enemy #1. And it certainly was treated so on the MEA (union) facebook page.
This is what their Facebook looked like earlier this week when they crowed about their accomplishment.

And today:

If they didn’t change or redact it, what explains this?

Tolerant Left Sends Death Threats to Wisconsin Law Makers

Story Published: Mar 10, 2011

Wisconsin State  Senator Dan Kapanke released this gem of liberal tolerance and compassion:

Story Published: Mar 10, 2011

That’s a nice business you got there. Pity if anything were to happen to it if, say, you didn’t toe the line and denounce Governor Walker like we’re asking nice-like.

March 10, 2011
Mr. Tom Ellis, President
Marshall & Ilsley Corporation
770 N. Water Street
Milwaukee, WI 53202
Dear Mr. Ellis:
As you undoubtedly know, Governor Walker recently proposed a “budget
adjustment bill” to eviscerate public employees’ right to collectively bargain in
Wisconsin. ..
As you also know, Scott Walker did not campaign on this issue when he ran for
office. If he had, we are confident that you would not be listed among his largest
contributors. As such, we are contacting you now to request your support.
The undersigned groups would like your company to publicly oppose Governor
Walker’s efforts to virtually eliminate collective bargaining for public employees in
Wisconsin. While we appreciate that you may need some time to consider this
request, we ask for your response by March 17. In the event that you do not
respond to this request by that date, we will assume that you stand with
Governor Walker and against the teachers, nurses, police officers, fire fighters,
and other dedicated public employees who serve our communities.

In the event that you cannot support this effort to save collective bargaining,
please be advised that the undersigned will publicly and formally boycott the
goods and services provided by your company. However, if you join us, we will
do everything in our power to publicly celebrate your partnership in the fight to
preserve the right of public employees to be heard at the bargaining table.
Wisconsin’s public employee unions serve to protect and promote equality and
fairness in the workplace. We hope you will stand with us and publicly share that
In the event you would like to discuss this matter further, please contact the
executive Director of the Wisconsin Professional Police Association, Jim Palmer,
at 608.273.3840.
Thank you in advance for your consideration. We look forward to hearing from
you soon.

Since the MSM appears intent on downplaying the growing intimidation and escalating threats of violence around the union power issue, I am reprinting verbatim an email that was sent to Republican senators. The email was signed, but I have deleted the name pending what I hope will be a thorough police investigation.

Subject: Atten: Death threat!!!! Bomb!!!!

Please put your things in order because you will be killed and your familes
will also be killed due to your actions in the last 8 weeks. Please explain
to them that this is because if we get rid of you and your families then it
will save the rights of 300,000 people and also be able to close the deficit
that you have created. I hope you have a good time in hell. Read below for
more information on possible scenarios in which you will die.

WE want to make this perfectly clear. Because of your actions today and in
the past couple of weeks I and the group of people that are working with me
have decided that we’ve had enough. We feel that you and the people that
support the dictator have to die. We have tried many other ways of dealing
with your corruption but you have taken things too far and we will not stand
for it any longer. So, this is how it’s going to happen: I as well as many
others know where you and your family live, it’s a matter of public records.
We have all planned to assult you by arriving at your house and putting a
nice little bullet in your head. However, we decided that we wouldn’t leave
it there. We also have decided that this may not be enough to send the
message to you since you are so “high” on Koch and have decided that you are
now going to single handedly make this a dictatorship instead of a
demorcratic process. So we have also built several bombs that we have placed
in various locations around the areas in which we know that you frequent.
This includes, your house, your car, the state capitol, and well I won’t
tell you all of them because that’s just no fun. Since we know that you are
not smart enough to figure out why this is happening to you we have decided
to make it perfectly clear to you. If you and your goonies feel that it’s
necessary to strip the rights of 300,000 people and ruin their lives, making
them unable to feed, clothe, and provide the necessities to their families
and themselves then We Will “get rid of” (in which I mean kill) you. Please
understand that this does not include the heroic Rep. Senator that risked
everything to go aganist what you and your goonies wanted him to do. We feel
that it’s worth our lives to do this, because we would be saving the lives
of 300,000 people. Please make your peace with God as soon as possible and
say goodbye to your loved ones we will not wait any longer. YOU WILL DIE!!!!

Pro LEGAL Alien Group in Washington Calls for Boycott of Seattle

Seattle is going easy on illegal alien criminals…
so they won’t be deported!

Seattle, WA, is among the worst sanctuary cities in the United States. In June 2010, Seattle City Attorney Pete Holmes enacted a new policy which protects illegal aliens convicted of misdemeanors from deportation. The previous policy was to use a 365-day sentence when anyone was convicted of a gross misdemeanor – this meant the individual could then be considered an “aggravated felon” and ICE would review the case for deportation.  The new policy is to request a maximum of 364 days in jail for legal and illegal immigrants in order to not tip-off ICE agents to the offending illegal alien.  A Seattle ordinance also prohibits police officers from investigating a suspect’s immigration status, unless they have committed a felony.

Bow Tie Blumenauer Says Without (Hated) $500,000.00 Capitol Cafeteria Recycling Program People Will Die

Earl Bow Tie Blumenauer, Congressional Rep from Oregon’s 3rd district, has sent House Speaker John Boehner a letter warning of killer cups and calling for a return to the capitol cafeteria recycling/compost program. No, I’m not making this up. But there was a problem with the program: it was a hot mess.

Republican Rep. Dan Lungren of California, the chairman of the House Administration Committee, is the one who dropped the biodegradables. He says the new products are higher quality than the biodegradable stuff — some of which fell apart.
“I mean, I got more complaints from members of Congress and staff — particularly staff — about forks that would bend, knives that wouldn’t cut,” he says. “And I got complaints about the cups — that you’d have to put two or three of them together so that you could hold it with a hot beverage.”

But Lungren says that’s not the only problem:

But it was the $475,000 composting program in the House-side cafeterias that stirred the most controversy. Designed to cut down on waste, it instituted the use of biodegradable utensils and trays made of cornstarch — an idea that may have worked better in theory than in practice, as it led to take-away boxes that leaked, spoons that melted and forks that broke when stuck into so much as a chicken tender.
Rep. Dan Lungren, R-Calif., chairman of the Committee on House Administration, announced last month that the composting program would be suspended indefinitely, contending “it is neither cost-effective nor energy-efficient.”

Previously, the House Democrats contended that Nancy Pelosi’s “Greening of the Capitol” program was a cost effective, efficient, wonderful program. Now that the cat’s out of the bag and it’s been demonstrated the program wasted money, used twice the energy as the old program and was hated by staffers to boot, Bow Tie and his friends are arguing that going back to styrofoam will kill people.
Bow Tie, when he’s not riding bikes for a Politico closeup, has been penning a letter to Speaker Boehner (along with Rep Mike “Bloody ‘Em Up” Capuano) warning of impending catastrophe unless the capitol cafeteria goes back to cornstarch cups:

The “Dear Colleague” … is titled “Cancer Causing Cups in the Cafeteria?”…Blumenauer argues that the new plastic foam containers are putting House employees and visitors at risk. The International Association for Research on Cancer classifies styrene as a “potential human carcinogen,” he wrote, and can cause “extensive health effects.”

Does anyone know how many styrofoam cups you have to eat before it causes cancer? I sure don’t. Where are the jobs, Earl? How’s the plan going to get us out of the budgetary morass you and yours got us into?

NPR Sting Video Shows This Lesson: What Would NPR Be Willing to Do for Muslim Brotherhood Check?

Great question. The man who posed as one of the Muslim Brotherhood members in the video sting of the NPR executive says there’s more to this than just a sting and a couple of people losing their jobs:

“If CAIR and $1.8 million from [left-wing billionaire George] Soros could get them jiggered up enough to push to fire Juan Williams,” Adeleye said, “I mean, what do you think $5 million from the Muslim Brotherhood would do? I’m sure we’d get them a few Muslim voices, because, like he said, ‘it’s unfair to not have Muslim voices represented because not having them would be like when we didn’t have women.’”

It’s also a question Ann Coulter brought up on Hannity last night. Good question. She also believes Rep Peter King ought to investigate THAT too.

Ed Schultz Admits Paid Talk Show Callers

When I heard that lib talker Ed Schultz admitted to using PAID FAKE callers, I thought, Well, Taft, you were wrong–you believed the big boys don’t use them because they barely take callers and don’t need them. But then I remembered, we’re talking about Ed Schultz for crying out loud. He’s not a big boy. Herewith is your liberal-phantasmagorical-dream-of-a-talk-show-host admitting he paid callers:

Oregon Not Home for Venture Capital

I’ve been told over and over that Oregon is drying up for venture capital. Folks in the start up world have to say they’re from Seattle or California to get any attention. And really, with the tax structure here and the bad economy, venture capital–start up seed money for really great business ideas–is tough to get anywhere.
Capital is fluid, it goes where it’s wanted and needed. That’s why on the Wall Street Journal’s list of the top 50 companies receiving venture capital, none is from Oregon. We don’t nurture business and business doesn’t like us back.

To be eligible for the ranking—compiled by research firm VentureSource, a unit of Wall Street Journal owner News Corp.—companies must have received an equity round of financing in the past three years and be valued at less than $1 billion, as the aim is to identify lesser-known contenders. That excludes a number of prominent companies, including Facebook, Twitter and Groupon Inc. Some 5,743 candidates were considered.
