In a move sure to upset Democrat leadership, Independent Democrat Joe Lieberman of Connecticut has announced he will campaign for and support some Republicans in 2010.

In 2008, Democrats threw Lieberman under the bus over his support for the War on Terror in Iraq and supporting GOP candidate John McCain. Lieberman filed as an Independent and handily defeated Democrat Ned Lamont, running on an anti-war ticket.

Lieberman also has said he supports the Republicans should they filibuster any healthcare proposal with the “public option.”
