While PETA Dabbles in Stupidity, it Cheers on Dark Forces in Portland

An “Animal rights” group, PETA, has been on the loony end of quite a few stories of their own making over the years. Lately there’s been the Pike Place Market fish monger story (here), the plea to the Pet Shop Boys to change their name (Here), and the stupidity about the President swatting a fly (here).
But behind the seeming frivolousness there’s a real agenda here and it plays out on the streets of Portland every day. And it’s getting down right nasty. Again.
Every day people who apparently have no jobs(?) gather in front of a local fur store to harass, cajole and carry on. Somebody apparently is paying these folks to camp out every day. If they’re on welfare I’d like to know so I can report them for failing to look for a real job. Over the weekend, however, vandals stepped up the pressure on this business by spattering gallons of red paint on the business sign, front door, front sidewalk, etc. Naturally the city of Portland is doing nothing.
As with Schumacher Fur and Outerwear, the City won’t lift a finger to help if a store owner is rude to the people planted outside their store trying to put them out of business.
I bring you this blog entry to put a stake in the ground to say to the City of Portland we won’t let you sit by idly again.

Tell ’em where you saw it. Http://www.victoriataft.com
