What Should be the Bigger Story? Buying Clothes or an Election?

…And of course the media choose to spend valuable time on Governor Palin’s clothes more than Obama’s buying the election.
A few days ago I posted the observation that with $605 million spent and begging his supporters for more (has anyone gotten their $10 magnet yet?), Barack Obama seems as if he’s just trying to buy the election. If it were a Republican you can better believe the media would be saying so. Now even the LAT admits it:

Having now collected more than $605 million altogether, the freshman senator shows no concern over the appearance of buying the presidency. Imagine for a moment the national political conversation that could be going on now if rich Republicans had raked in that much loot for one campaign.
