This is from our friends at the Freedom Foundation who report that Washington State taxpayers are being forced to pay for a Saul Alinsky acolyte to teach social worker “cultural competency.”

As if that’s not bad enough, we talked to Jeff Rhodes over at the Olympia Report who told us one of the group’s was based in New Orleans, well, I just had to check. Check what you ask? Check to see if it’s really an ACORN outfit. Guessssss whaaaat?

From the story at the Olympia Report:

DSHS requires its case workers to attend racial sensitivity training under the guidelines of a 2007 law (SB-1472), which created the State Racial Disproportionality Advisory Committee and charged it with investigating the “over-representation of children of color in the child welfare system compared to their numbers in the general population.”

The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services this month awarded two “sole-source” contracts — including one to a disciple of self-described “radical” Marxist Saul Alinsky — in order to satisfy a “legislative mediation” requirement to acquaint the agency’s case workers with the concept of racism.
The total value of the two deals is $52,000.

For $16,000, Cultures Connecting will provide three two-day sessions on “Cultural Competence” for DSHS Children’s Administration staff.

The second contract, announced this week, awards $36,000 to a New Orleans company known as The People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond, which will offer three two-day sessions of its trademarked “Undoing Racism” presentation between June 12 and Dec. 31.
Founded in 1983 by community organizer Ron Chisom, one of the People’s Institute’s guiding principles is that, “The fabric of racism is inextricably woven and constructed into the founding principles of the United States.”
According to the company’s website, “…unequivocally, whites continue to fair (sic) significantly better than all people of color. In our workshops, we analyze power and how it is used to maintain this racial divide…”
Chisom himself, was “apprenticed by several legendary community organizers, including Saul Alinsky,” author of “Rules for Radicals.”
