Video below: The car note is  another case of the “Keep Portland Weird” crowd attempting to define what’s appropriately weird for all.

KATU reports that over the weekend Rick Gencarelli received an anonymous note on his VW Tdi car urging him to get rid of it because VW was found cheating emissions standards and that his car was polluting “2-4 times a Chevy Suburban”.

The “sympathetic and concerned citizen of Portland” wrote in the thinly veiled threat that Gencarelli’s car was manufactured by a cheating car company created by the Nazis. Here’s what the History.com says about the Nazi claim:

“…[T]he government of Germany–then under the control of Adolf Hitler of the National Socialist (Nazi) Party–forms a new state-owned automobile company, then known as Gesellschaft zur Vorbereitung des Deutschen Volkswagens mbH. Later that year, it was renamed simply Volkswagenwerk, or “The People’s Car Company.”

You’d think the you-must-obey-me-for-the-people likely socialist who wrote the note would be inclined to support a “people’s car company” founded by a socialist organization, but I guess the extermination of the Jews/holocaust made it into the consciousness of even this self-centered-self-important-we-know-better-than-you-simpering butt-insky.

Here’s what the note read:

“Hello, VW TDI owner. While cute, your TDI is outfitted with a cheating device meant to elude emission standards.

Your car is currently polluting at rates higher than nearly any modern gasoline car today.

Not to mention VW lied to you and the public, and was founded by Nazis 🙁 .

Perhaps it’s time to consider a different car. (Signed) A sympathetic and concerned citizen of Portland.”

Gencarelli posted the note on his restaurant’s Instagram account:

He posed a question to the writer of the note:

“I wonder if they would buy me a new car.”

Odd, that a person who would go to all the trouble to cut and paste that VW logo, use multiple colors and print the note wouldn’t bother leaving a signature to identify himself.

I imagine it won’t be the last time Gencarelli will be targeted by the left in Portland for his politically incorrect behavior. Get a load of the name of his restaurant: Lardo. Lardo has three Portland area locations. Good for him!

But I know two Portlanders put OUT of business in this town because the politically “correct” left didn’t like what they served or sold. Beware.

Signed,

A (Genuinely) Sympathetic and Concerned (Living Elsewhere) Native Portlander.
