Nike tax bill assailed, supported at Oregon legislative hearing

Debate intensified Thursday over a proposal to protect Nike and other large corporations in Oregon from sudden tax changes, clouding what was first seen as a slam-dunk win for the sportswear company and Gov. John Kitzhaber. Complicating matters, Oregon’s biggest corporate employer, Intel, it wasn’t told about the deal in advance and was excluded from the initial legislation.
