This is just a taste. The whole budget will be released in time. Here’s the overview.
$3.5 million for Transportation, including:

o $1.6 million to finally build sidewalks and make other safety improvements for
pedestrians, bicycles and cars along N.E. Cully Boulevard.
o $400,000 to continue street light replacement.
o $200,000 to eliminate a traffic safety investigation backlog.
o Although PDOT’s budget primarily relies on federal, state and county sources, I am allocating $800,000 to meet its projected budget shortfall in order to maintain current service levels.
o $500,000 for a draft environmental impact statement for the proposed Milwaukie Light Rail.
o In the past three budget cycles, the City’s General Fund has filled the gap in critical street maintenance and safety needs with over $32 million. I believe our next step should be to place the proposed Street Safety and Maintenance Fee, which I support, before voters on the November ballot. (CAR TAX)
