The apparent offense was ‘disrupting traffic’ and/or allowing signs to cross the plane of the railing. But Tea Partiers said they weren’t disrupting traffic. They had spotters who were watching for traffic disruptions during morning drive and there weren’t any.

Police confirm 911 call to complain.
According to two Tea Party protesters who spoke with the officer: The officer was concerned there were only signs on the overpass–not that there was any dangling of the signs.
The officer said her Sergeant sent her down to disperse the crowd. The protesters asked the officer what laws they broke.
The officer told the crowd to move on.
Mary Wheat kindly came on the show to give us details of what she knew. She told me the police officer did NOT break up the group of 15 or so protesters
