Oregon Democrats=Job Killers. After Market Car Parts Companies in Trouble.

Last session it was the evil pay day lenders wiped out by the democrats in the state legislature (gee, wonder where the poor folks are getting their loans now?) When the state regulated the amount lenders could charge to loan to this high risk group of people, it wiped out more than a thousand jobs. Now the state legislative democrats are getting ready to kill off the after market auto parts industry in Oregon.

Under House Bill 2186
(here), after-market auto parts could be sold only if they increase fuel efficiency which is only regulated by the feds by the way. Blingy tires and wheels, spoilers, bike racks, storage “clam shells,” low rider suspension hydraulics— ANYTHING you put on a car after market that could cause any amount of drag on a car, ergo reduce fuel efficiency, would be banned from sale in Oregon.

The after market car parts industry is fired up and fighting back here.

This is all in the name of “Man Made Global Warming” which doesn’t exist. Man does NOT cause global warming. The sun does. Got it?

Ben Cannon, DEMOCRAT, is running the committee looking at this issue.

Republican State Rep, Vic Gilliam is already parrying the responses. He’s against it. Read what a 5th Listener got back from him on the issue:

Dear Tom,

Thank you for your email on HB 2186. While I support measures for improving our environment, I am opposing this bill in its current form for a number of reasons including the potential detrimental effects it has on those in the used-parts industry. As Vice Chair of the House Environment and Water Committee, you can be sure that I will do all I can to oppose this bill or amend it to a form that is more acceptable. Your comments are appreciated.

Sincerely,

Vic
