The mixed media mural’s message really isn’t all that mixed at all. In fact, it’s clear. Perhaps it’s a prediction for America’s future under an Obama administration. From Gentle 5th Listener Matt in Portland.
Here’s what he told me about his call to OCAC to find out what this meant:

The mural dedicated to Lenin was put up over the weekend at the Oregon Arts School.I placed a phone call to the Dean of Students ( Kate) and left a message requesting the relevance and or nature of the mural. She has responded to me today in a voicemail message back letting me know the following:

1. The school had no knowledge of this when it had happened.
2. The school is not trying to make a political statement.
3. The students did not have permission to do it, however when she had noticed it yesterday she has decided to leave it up for today and have a critique of the mural to discuss the following points”

a. Social Responsibility
b. Holistic look at the impact.
c. Consequences
