Here.  Live blogging here at NRO/the corner. Best laugh here.
Did the president say we the people didn’t care if he crammed health care down our throats through reconciliation? I believe he did.  12:42

Rep Paul Ryan speaks well on NOT federalizing insurance regulation. “We want to decentralize this but if you federalize it, mandate it, you can’t achieve cost reductions.” He thinks individuals, companies, associations will make better choices for themselves. The democrats don’t think so. They think they’re better equipped to tell you when you should be able to leave the hospital.

Mitch McConnell says the D’s have had 52 minutes of time and the R’s 22 (or something)
Congressman John Cline owns the Prez about cost containment. “government centered exchanges, that kind of approach, increases mandates which increase the cost of coverage contained in these very large bills.”

Harry Reid said that “no one is talking about reconciliation” except the R’s. History of reconciliation here

Why does the stream need buffering everytime the R’s start talking? The President tells another whopper about all of Coburn’s cost containment being included in “his” bill. Let’s get rid of fraud and abuse. Let’s start there.

8;06 Tom Coburn says government regulation, fraud drive up health care costs, tests that are done for defensive medicine to keep on the right side of lawyering and extortion by suits.

7:45 a Did I just hear Harry Reid call Lamar Alexander a liar? “you’re entitled to your opinion, but not your own facts.”
7:50 Reid is the attack dog today. “Lamar, the republicans had significant input in the bill you now lament.”
“If you have a better plan to make health care more affordable, let’s hear it.”
“we’re ready to listen”

Obama admits to have “read” (uh,huh) the Boehner and GOP health plans–you know, the ones he claims didn’t exist, but held up in a news conference, and which Gibbs magnanimously offered to put up on the White House website where it had already been there for weeks.

Lamar Alexander is opening for the R’s. He says he wants to start over.

“we want you to succeed, because if you succeed the country succeeds, but I respectfully ask you to go in another direction.” “we need a clean slate.”
Alexander goes over cost issues, gutting Medicare, higher taxes, higher premiums under the president’s plan. And the “mother of all unfunded mandates” to the states. Dumps a huge number of people into Medicaid.
“this is a car that can’t be recalled and fixed.”

“we don’t do ‘comprehensive’ well.
‘expand health savings accounts.”
Reduce government mandates.
He goes over Mike Enzi’s small business insurance plan.
If we took over insurance companies and took all their money it would pay for only two days of medical insurance for the country. Reigning in insurance companies isn’t going to cut costs to the degrees we need it.
I ask you to renounce this idea of reconciliation for the purpose of passing your bill. it’s not appropriate.
Alexander quotes Obama back to him on the tyranny of the majority and reconcialiation process in judge choices.
don’t jam it through.
Cutaway shot to Obama not looking at Alexander. Then when he starts looking at him you see Pelosi, Reid, and Biden looking straight ahead, or in the case of Biden, looking down and coloring in his color book.
Pelosi’s talking about bi partisanship. Hee.
