The anti social “bicycling” (read car hating) group which calls themselves the Zoobombers spends one night a week taking over the streets starting at the zoo and then ‘bombing’ down the road (sometimes Highway 26) down to the Goosehollow max and doing it all over again. Of course, rules mean nothing to these guys, so stop signs, red lights, riding in traffic on a freeway mean nothing to them. The Portland Police Bureau doesn’t do much about them.
Now, in an amazing accommodation of an anti social, car hating, rule breaking group, Sam Adams will give an artist a $10,000 ARTS GRANT to build a tribute to the Zoobombers. This is so when they’re done with their illegal rides, the ‘bombers can have a legal place to park their bikes. In order to do this they’re calling it an “ARTS GRANT.” Paid for by you Portland area tax payers.
It should be crystalline clear to you by now that if you’re playing by the rules you get no respect from Mayor Moonbeam and the Rainbow City Council.
