I was doing my own taxes (forgive me!) and came across this little blip in the Oregon State Taxes section of Turbo Tax. (See attachment.)
Look at the first line of the description; Measure 66, the personal income tax measure, passed.
WHAT?!?!?! “Personal income tax”??? What have other people outside of Oregon heard that they wouldn’t tell us? They jumped all over themselves promising us it was to save the schools and that it would only affect the rich. Well look at my return for Oregon . For the first time in 18 years I OWE MONEY TO THESE THIEVES!!!!
And the little note at the end is rich; “Oh, by the way, if you already filed your return, don’t worry, we’ll send you the bill for what you owe!”
It’s like having a cheating significant other; you are the last one to know what happen…
