Conservatives have taken over twitter, the tool that Liberals used to propel their Supreme Leader to Presidential status in 2008. Now the Libs want it back and they’ve planned a fight. Their spoils are four more years of redistributionism from Obama. Ours:  freedom.

If you follow Twitter you already know that it is filled with battles between Conservatives and Liberals. The Brietbartians v Media Matters is at the top of the card. The undercard features fights  on the local level–several of us have taken up “arms” against the navel gazing of the local redistributionists. Many times the ‘battles’ are silly, devolving into ‘fauxfense’ and trifles. But underlying the fluff is a serious ideological fight that is conducted on a minute by minute basis.

The left has declared war in 2012 (see after the jump) and we will meet them in battle on the social media. We’ve won the hill (literally and figuratively–look at the nearby Infographic from Media Bistro–after the jump) and we’re in a better position to hold it. The phalanx of political spin has begun.

The competition isn’t limited to Twitter, it includes all social networking platforms with a focus on amassing followers. We wonder who will get busted for buying followers first?

You may remember from our earlier post that representatives from the Republican side of the fence were kicking butt on Twitter. Well, it looks like the Democrats are gearing up to give them a run for their money as they head in to their third annual “New Media Challenge.”

The Republicans have already beaten them to the punch on the challenge, getting a leg up on search terms. More from Media Bistro:

Republicans call their event, also in its third year, the “New Media Contest.” How appropriate that each side has a slightly different take on the exact same thing. We’ll leave you to analyze the deeper meaning, if there is any to be found, in the distinction.
Though whether you Google New Media Challenge or New Media Contest, Republicans appear to have both search results wrapped up. So Democrats certainly need to step up their game in that respect!

But the Liberals are getting serious.  And dangerous. As we’ve explained on The Victoria Taft Show (no idea who posted that link but thanks) with Lee Stranahan, the Liberals have begun “swatting” conservative bloggers—calling cops and lying about a person killing someone in their house–so they’ll send out the swat team. Bedlam and danger ensues. It’s happened several times to bloggers.
