Portland Oregon Mayoral Primary: Adams and Dozono in Fierce Fight —
In a primary for mayor of Portland Oregon today, 04/10/08, City Commissioner Sam Adams and businessman Sho Dozono tie, according to this SurveyUSA poll conducted exclusively for KATU-TV. Today, it’s Adams 39% and Dozono 38%, effectively even given the survey’s 4.1 percentage point margin of sampling error. Other candidates take 14% of the vote, with 10% still undecided, 39 days until ballots are counted. Liberals back Adams. Conservatives back Dozono. Moderates split. Dozono leads by 5 points among men; Adams leads by 6 among women. Adams leads by 13 points among voters age 18 to 49; Dozono leads by 11 among those age 50+. Adams has a slight edge among white voters. Dozono leads among minority voters. Among Portland voters who say schools are the most important issue for Portland‘s next mayor, Adams leads by 14 points. Among those who say spending is most important, Dozono leads by 34. Adams and Dozono tie among those who say roads are most important.
