In Portland, is the motorist always in the wrong when it comes to bicycles?

Little did “witnesses” realize that the motorist was actually a long time bicycle advocate himself who had chided a drunken bicyclist for running a red light and was being attacked by the drunk.

Why were others afraid to speak up with what they knew against the bicyclist?

Robert Pickett, liason between bicyclists and Portland Police said, “It’s too bad there’s an ‘us vs. them’ dynamic.”
