One time I was involved in a car accident with a nutter. Later I found out he was on a BUNCH of psychotropic drugs including, anti anxiety meds, anti depressants, and something that I was told would help his anger management problem. It turned out that he worked at
the DMV giving driving tests (I don’t even want to think about it)!!I’m pretty sure he was a nutball before he started giving driving tests and working for the state.

Now in this story here  we’ve got another ODOT worker who had just been laid off, was depressed and angry and went out and bought a bunch of guns.

The folks at ODOT told the cops in Medford and, after he legally stocked up on a bunch of NEW guns–including a shotgun and AK–they brought out the SWAT team and talked him out of his house. THEN they institutionalized him.
When he bought the guns his back ground check came up clean. How did that happen if the cops knew the guy was a nutter? Now he’s been institutionalized  and I assume that will come up on his record in the future so that he can’t buy guns.
I’ve got a lot of questions but not a lot of answers at this point.
We were wondering why we couldn’t raise the Jackson County Sheriff yesterday for the show. Now we know. He was busy trying to figure out what to say about THIS story.
I ask you, was this a gun grabbing case or was it preemption and prescience?
