The Evergreen Freedom Foundation alleges in a lawsuit against SOS Sam Reed, that some teenagers who registered to vote, but who are still too young to cast ballots, have been voting. EFFWA says this move obviously cancels out the legitimate vote of voters and is suing to make sure when these teens register that their names are flagged so that workers double check eligibility dates. They say they’ve made Reed aware of the situation in this voting cycle and he’s taking steps to help, but already there have been illegal votes cast. The lawsuit is to make the situation as air tight for the next election cycle as possible.
You may be aware that the state legislature in Oregon smoothed the way for underage voters to register while they’re in high school (and under the tutelage of the teachers union members).
