I’ll go into this after the election a bit more, but suffice it to say Rob Cornilles has been largely on his own in his race for ORCD1. Its been nothing short of embarrassing.
In a race in which the Democrats–from Pelosi (here) to pro aborts (here) have been shoveling about a million dollars into ads depicting Cornilles as a troglodyte, the NRCC is finally cutting him  a check for–wait for it–

$85,000.00.

The NRCC spokeswoman told The Hill (here):

“You have to look no further than how much the Democrats are spending to see that Rob has made this into a competitive race,” said an NRCC spokesman.

Cornilles’s campaign did not respond to a request for comment.

For months, Republicans in Oregon had quietly noted that unlike Bonamici, whose candidacy was bolstered by heavy involvement from national Democrats, the NRCC had left Cornilles largely to his own devices, keeping its role limited to the periodic distribution of press releases touting his candidacy.

No, Cornilles is not as conservative as I would like, but he’s a darn sight more conservative than Nancy Pelosi who has been running Oregon’s CD 1 for years through her useful idiots. She’s banking on Suzanne Bonamici to be her latest one.
