Adams ‘thrilled, humbled and surprised’ at becoming Portland’s next mayor

Sam Adams, who will become Portland’s next mayor after he received more than 50 percent of the vote in Tuesday’s primary, was delighted by the margin of his victory
tonight over his nearest competitor, Sho Dozono, and even a little bit shocked.
As of 10:45 p.m., Adams had 58 percent of the vote compared to Dozono’s 33.
“I’m thrilled, humbled and surprised,” Adams told PolitickerOR.com at his
victory party at the Jupiter Hotel. “What an opportunity to have seven months to
get prepared. I had a great team that really put together and executed a
fantastic grassroots campaign.”
