Recall right after Obama won the November 4, 2008 election and news broke of his first meeting with President Bush? The one where many felt, including Obama, how inappropriate Bush was the use hand sanitizer right after shaking his hand?
It turns out Bush was right again.
In the video below, during an interview with CNBC’s John Harwood, the one takes time out, distracted by a fly, to swat it with his bare hands. He is not seen washing his hands, using sanitizer or even wiping the remnants of the pesky insect off on his expensive suit.
But, he does turn to the camera crew to tell them how “impressed he is” with his ability.
Even Harwood is impressed.
Not impressed is PETA, who is sending Fly Swatter in Chief a Katcha Bug Humane Bug Catcher so he may trap the next fly and release it unharmed outside.
Can the media love affair with this dude get any sillier?
UPDATE: On second thought, perhaps the real intent of this coverage is to send a clear message to all enemies of the state. “Mess with Obama and get squashed like a bug!”
