MATT LINDLAND’S TEAM QUEST FREE SELF-DEFENSE SEMINAR TO BENEFIT ST. JUDE’S HOSPITAL
Victoria Taft To Attend — Reports She Will Spar With MMA Legend Lindland “Exaggerated”
Team Quest, one of the most famed mixed martial arts training centers in the world — led by Oregon’s Olympic Silver Medalist and MMA Super Star Matt Lindland — will offer a free self-defense seminar to benefit St. Judge’s Hospital on Saturday, January 22, at 9:00 a.m, at Team Quest MMA, 18206 SE Stark, Portland, OR 97233 (503-661-4134). MMA is the fastest growing sport in America. Lindland has brought honor to the sport, himself, and to Oregon, not only by bringing home his Olymic Silver Medal (in greco roman wrestling), but by his participation in MMA as a super-star competitor, trainer and co-founder of Team Quest in Gresham along with MMA legends Randy Couture and Dan Henderson, and as a MMA fight promoter providing the opportunity for up-and-coming athletes to compete and develop their athletic talents in the demanding sport. Team Quest has produced many champions and top contenders in MMA.
Lindland and Team Quest have also done much to give back to the community where Team Quest was born, and Saturday’s event is part of that effort.
“We feel at Team Quest that with the economy in decline and crime going up, this free self-defense seminar to help citizens to be better able to defend themselves in potentially life threatening situations is a great way to give back to the community,” Lindland said. “It is also part of Team Quest’s efforts to raise funds for St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital, which never turns a child in need away. While the self-defense seminar is absolutely free, any donations made will go directly to St. Jude’s.”
In addition to the opportunity to meet and receive self-defense training from Lindland and the outstanding trainers and fighters at Team Quest, participants will have the chance to meet and greet with Victoria Taft, Oregon’s Radio Personality of the Year, who will be attending the self-defense seminar, Lindland said.
While Victoria Taft has confirmed that she will be attending the seminar, the reports that she will be taking on Matt Lindland or other fighters in MMA sparring have been greatly exaggerated.
