An Oregon man started has started his 30 day jail term. His crime? Collecting what he claims is water in ponds on his property. The state of Oregon says he’s stealing from the watershed that helps provide Medford with water.

Gary Harrington reported to jail yesterday, holding a news conference and kissing his loved ones goodbye.

CNS News broke the story of the Oregon man. Harrington has served as his own counsel during the proceedings. Before he went to the lock up, Harrington held a

news conferrence claiming the judge wouldn’t listen to arguments in his defense regarding jury nullification and American principles.

I spoke with Harrington and his “legal advisor” several days ago (see my post with links to original story here) and it became clear that Harrington didn’t effectively argue in court he was not breaking the law. The state contends Harrington redirected streams on his property that were part of the Medford watershed.

This guy needs a lawyer. A real one. The Victoria Taft Show sent information to the Pacific Legal Foundation and at this point they won’t take the case.
