The Columbian Calls This a “Chair Lynching” |
Kathy Maxwell and her husband George live in Camas, Washington. They love the rural feel of the place and have been quiet neighbors. That is until now. President Obama, his overspending, and attacks on capitalism have prompted their mini rebellion.
They’ve recently begun to spout their political opinions on a chalk board on their property by the side of the road.
The chalk board’s latest message is “Are You Better Off Now Than 4 Yrs Ago?” Then below reads, “The King is a Joke.” And, inspired by Clint Eastwood’s “empty chair” speech at the GOP convention, they put an empty chair next to the sign.
It was stolen within four hours.
The Maxwells, who aren’t rich people, decided to put the chair out of the reach of vandals so they hung it from the tree above the sign. So now instead of being angry voters, they’re racist too.

Democrats Who Do This? Not Racist. |
How’s that, you may ask? Because the chair represents the President, he happens to be black, therefore they’re racists.
I talked to Kathy Maxwell on my show recently (here) and she said the hate calls have been unrelenting. Among the epithets are “white trash,” “trailer trash” etc. She has received calls saying that she “lives in a trailer home, eating mayonnaise sandwiches…” Gee, wonder where they got that from?

Well, this got the attention of local reporters and then the race grievance people got involved. No, not because haters were piling on the couple and calling THEM racist names, but because their efforts to stop people from stealing the chair were RAAAAAAACIST.
The Maxwells were publicly called “racially insensitive.” And threatening calls to the couple increased.
Obviously, re-education was necessary. The local college conducted a symposium on how the chair hanging from a tree evoked memories of the Jim Crow south where blacks were hanged by Democrats.
The Maxwells didn’t go to the symposium because they’re not racists. They’re Republicans. But now the entire community knows what could happen to them if they speak out against the President…who happens to be black.
