The Chief just announced it here.
The Chief and Mayor both claim that the actions are “out of the Bureau’s policy.”
Odd, the Grand Jury didn’t think so. Former Multnomah County Sheriff, Bernie Giusto, believes the City has opened the door for more culpability on the part of the taxpayers in the federal civil rights lawsuit which has been filed in the case. He’s confused also about how the grand jury could say the shooting was within the bounds of training but the Chief and Mayor could find otherwise.
After speaking about it on the air today on KPAM 860 11-3pm, I received a call from a guy named Tom. He identified himself as a former Bureau training officer. Frashour was one of his trainees.
“They’re creating a dispirited and neutered police agency there.” Officer Ron Frashour’s training officer.
“[This is part of the reason] why I pulled the pin and got out of the Bureau.”
On the possibility that police officers will be reluctant to do their jobs because the Bureau doesn’t have their back:
Is that we want on the thin blue line? Is that what we between us and the savages–uniformed eunuchs?”
Before you castigate him for the use of the word ‘savages,’ you might want to visit the jail.
