PORTLAND, Ore. – December 5, 2012. REACH Community Development, a local nonprofit affordable housing developer, today announced media tours being offered at Gray’s Landing. Gray’s Landing is the first affordable housing development located in the South Waterfront District. The building officially opens to the public on December 14, 2012.
MEDIA TOURS
When: Friday, December 7 * 1:00 – 3:00 pm.
Where: Residential lobby of Gray’s Landing, 0650 SW Lowell Ave.
Who: All media representatives are welcome. A briefing about the development will take place at 1:00 pm. Tours will leave the lobby space no later than 1:30 pm.
Gray’s Landing, a $50 million dollar project, is home to 209 affordable apartments, with 167 of the apartments targeted to working people with modest incomes. The remaining 42 apartments have been set aside for very low-income veterans. The apartments are located above 26,000 sq. ft. of ground floor commercial and community space. REACH has completed the move of its corporate headquarters into 12,000 sq. ft. of the commercial space, which it purchased for $1.79 million. The building boasts one of the largest eco-roofs in the Portland metropolitan region, and is targeted to receive LEED Platinum certification. Gray’s Landing is a collaborative development between REACH, City Commissioner Nick Fish, and the Portland Housing Bureau.
