Remember the anti electricity photo-op/protest we told you about recently? Citizen Journalists Daylight Disinfectant and Laughing at Liberals captured the event–and more.
They have since revealed ( here and here) that there were Obama mask wearing kayakers and limousine liberals with their chartered yachts with catered finger sandwiches for this ‘grass roots’ effort. Daylight Disinfectant revealed that a billionaire heiress was, in fact, on one of the yachts.
Which brings us to now. After the yachts, canapes and billionaires, we discover that among the operators of the 350.org group is (drum roll, please): Van Jones, the communist espousing, erstwhile Obama Administration green jobs czar.
Daylight Disinfectant has a choice morsel on that connection here.
Liberals: please spare me any billionaire Koch Brothers bile. On ANYthing, ANYmore.
Oh and from a friend who looked up the “None Shall Pass” reference,
The banner asserting “None shall pass” reflects a slogan used several times in the first part of the 20th century. The French version was used in propaganda during WW I, during the siege of Verdun. In the Spanish Civil War, the Spanish version’ “NO PASARAN! became the most famous iteration and is undoubtedly the inspiration for this demonstration, although most of the protestors probably had no clue as to why. If there were any socialists or radical leftists among the protestors, they would know the significance.
The important Spanish Communist orator Delores Ibarruri (“La Passionaria”) first used “No Pasaran” in a speech she delivered to Communist soldiers to encourage them during the siege of Madrid being pressed by Franco and his Fascist troops. It became the Communist’s tragic battle cry because Franco did capture Madrid, one of the turning points of the war.
It is a highly romantic and emotional cry, shouted as self-encouragement by protestors who have little strength to gain their objectives. A version was reportedly shouted by the Greek soldiers at Thermapylae.
