Pat (“Bam Bam”) Healy of  Portland’s Team Quest, scored his fourth consecutive victory in a “Strikeforce” MMA promotion which was broadcast nationwide on “Showtime” out of Columbus, Ohio, on Saturday, March 3, 2014.
After two tough rounds, Healy forced rising star Carol Fodor, previously unbeaten in “Strikeforce” competition, to tap out due to a triangle chokehold by Healy at 3:35 of the third and final round.
Healy’s victory raised his professional MMA record to 29-15, including a 5-1 record in “Strikeforce” competition.
His victory also raised speculation by the broadcast commentators that Healy may now be in line for a shot at the “Strikeforce” 155-lb Light Weight title.
Healy has long trained at and been a fight team member of  the internationally renown Team Quest MMA in Portland (Gresham), which was founded by Matt Lindland, Oregon’s Olympic Silver Medalist (Greco-Roman wrestling) and MMA legend who leads Team Quest as competitor and coach.
Lindland was in Healy’s corner in the “Strikeforce” event in Ohio, where Healy prevailed with his usual combination of skill, toughness, and “Bam Bam” whatever-it-takes true grit.
Healy is also, like Lindland, and so many MMA competitors, a patriot who has strongly supported active duty troops and veterans.
