A San Diego area high school student today. If Mexican nationals want freedom as one of their signs said, shouldn’t they be asking the government of Mexico–and demonstrate there?

Some of them espoused a radical agenda such as La Raza and MEChA; others were caught up in a ‘rights’ agenda. Great. If you’ve broken the law to be here what rights should you receive again? Aztlan: Here’s the Plan.
Here’s the way it’s carried out. These chapters of MEChA, like the one here at the University of Oregon, are all about separatism and bigotry.

Chicano is our identity; it defines who we are as people. It rejects the notion that we are an insignificant minority group that should assimilate into the Anglo-American melting pot of materialism, greed, and intolerance upon us. It is a symbol of Resistance as well as a symbol of Unity amongst Mexicanos, Salvadorenos, Chilenos, Puerto Ricennos, Cubanos, and all other Raza. Chicano has come to represent the strugles and fight of all Latino peoples.
