According to the Zero (here) today we’ve got the rest stop manned by SEVEN (7?!) NEW MANAGERS hired to oversee the refurbishment of eight (8) rest stops in Oregon, making it, according to Gail Achterman of the Oregon Transportation Commission, ‘the first zero-carbon footprint rest stops in the country.’
The headline in the Zero?

“Canby Man Will Welcome I-5 Travelers”

‘Scuse me? The man who’s heading up the rest stop in Wilsonville sounds like a great guy, by the way. Former house builder and fence builder who recently lost his job. He’ll be coming up with ideas on how to rework the rest stops to make them carbon neutral, but, seriously, $300m?
Oh, and don’t worry. That money is coming from the huge transportation tax increase the democrats socked us with in the last legislative session.
I’ll be talking about this on the show this afternoon.
