| Recent Beat Down on |
I wondered what the angle was when Tri Met sent fare inspector “supervisors” out a few days back to crack down on fare jumpers. Now the fog in my crystal orb is clearing.
I figured since riders and drivers were getting beaten up, guns were being brandished and riders threatened by likely fare jumpers that Tri Met was going after these turds. But who am I kidding? They haven’t paid much attention to this activity before.
No, I see that Tri Met wanted to draw attention to the fact that the state now receives all the money from tickets issued on mass transit. They’re lobbying the legislature–now in session (what an AMAZEBALLS COININKYDINK!)–to go back to the way the money was previously divvied up. In order to looked aggrieved they actually had to issue tickets– and fast!
That said, I hope to get some comment on this when I drive a bus –yes, really–this week at the Tri Met bus yard. I’m checking underneath for explosive devices first.
