"THIS is What [Occupy Portland’s] Democracy Looks Like"

Drive by #OPDX. The Stench Was Awful.

If a company had done this damage to a two block area in downtown Portland, bunny suited haz mat specialists would have descended and Main Justice would have rolled up the bad actors so fast it would have made the raid on Gibson Guitar pale by comparison.

But because Occupy Portland is made up of the Mayor’s (and the Schnitzer’s? See post nearby) base, they’ve been given a free pass. Free from liability, free from responsibility, free from guilt for having caused this outrageous destruction to public and private space.

Do you realize the City of Portland has  more than 60 cops over there making overtime wages who, among other things are–cleaning? I saw what appeared to be a half dozen “Occupiers” helping but mostly the cops were doing and directing most of the work.  Hey, wait a minute, didn’t the mayor calls this the most responsible and organized protest he’s ever seen (nothwithstanding all the unpermitted, hazmatted, rapist and molotov cocktailed illegality)?

Occupy Portland has devolved into a stench filled, brown field, haz mat site with piles of pallets, shields, junk, stolen shopping carts dotted around a two block area. There were at least 60 cops–some on horseback, some masked (and who can blame them??) who are slowly taking control of the squares. The parking on one side has been subsumed with police tape, a water bureau truck has blocked a lane. Gawkers are driving by on the lanes closest to this circus to see if they can get a quick sense of Occupy Crazy.

So, “This is What Democracy Looks Like” ? I’ve said it many times since the siege started and I’ll say it again: I feel sorry for the real true believers. You’ve been done wrong. But you invited these anarchist, socialist, communist, violent homeless, drugs addled rabble. You shouldn’t have let this happen. The Mayor gave you a pass. He never would have given the Tea Party the benefit of ALL this doubt.

This rodeo happened ACROSS THE STREET from CITY HALL. They KNEW what was going on but somehow believed the ANARCHISTS would be nice. The Mayor and the City Commissioners should never have let this happen.

This debacle is on them.

I’ll be out there later tonight. I’ll be wearing throwaway shoes, wearing a mask and cheering the cops.

I’m calling an attorney. I don’t like ’em much, unless I want somebody sued.

Tell ’em where you saw it. Http://www.victoriataft.com
