Number Grows to 650 of Scientists Who Don’t Believe in MAN MADE Global Warming

650 scientists—12 times the number who say man IS causing global warming—are dissenting from the current received wisdom on AGW. Here’s part of a dispatch from the UN Global Warming meeting:

POZNAN, Poland – The UN global warming conference currently underway in Poland is about to face a serious challenge from over 650 dissenting scientists from around the globe who are criticizing the climate claims made by the UN IPCC and former Vice President Al Gore. Set for release this week, a newly updated U.S. Senate Minority Report features the dissenting voices of over 650 international scientists, many current and former UN IPCC scientists, who have now turned against the UN. The report has added about 250 scientists (and growing) in 2008 to the over 400 scientists who spoke out in 2007. The over 650 dissenting scientists are more than 12 times the number of UN scientists (52) who authored the media hyped IPCC 2007 Summary for Policymakers.

Plus!
A few days back I posted the graph showing that 2008 is the coolest year of the past decade.
Here’s that graph again but this time superimposed with the number of reporting stations available to give temperatures.

We are in a global cooling period. Even the IPCC affirms that, ahem, uh, the worldappearstobeinacoolingphasebutglobalwarmingiscomingback.
The year 1934 is the coolest of the past century, but an alert global warming blogger (from Minnesota here) notes that the graph doesn’t show that, rather, it shows 1998 as the warmest. As previous reports have pointed out, NASA has backed off those numbers and admits 1934 is the warmest on the past hundred years. For those of you keeping book, that was before SUV’s.

So wassup?
Well, the collapse of the former Soviet Union is wassup. It appears the weather stations in the nether regions of the former USSR, most notably SIBERIA, aren’t reporting temperatures anymore! At the very least the number of reporting stations has diminished from 15,000 to 5,000.
Remember that just a few weeks ago, James Hansen’s folks at NASA had to admit that there were some problems with temperature reporting from Russia–they recycled the temperatures from AUGUST!
