Oregon law says you can’t shoot the bad actor who just broke into your house unless he threatens violence. A new initiative could call a halt to all that chit chat and let you just shoot the bastard instead.

By now you’ve probably heard the story of the 18 year old Mom who spent 20 minutes talking to a 911 operator while listening to intruders rifle through her house while growing ever closer to her hiding spot.

She kept asking if it was ok if she could shoot him. In the end, the intruder, armed with a knife it turns out, lost the gun fight.

 Can you imagine having to puzzle through the legalities with the 911 operator while on hold listening to some meth crazed head case growing ever closer to your hiding spot?
This initiative could clear it all up and just let you take the measure of the situation and shoot him or just shoot him.
