Democrats’ Message That "It’s George Bush’s Fault" on Deficit and Debt Is Taking Hold

The likes of Rush Limbaugh call it audacious, but a new poll reflects that Americans are beginning to believe the Democrat meme about the outrageous debt and deficit being President Bush’s fault. Talk about the short attention spans of the American public…
It reflects a full disconnection from reality (here):

Sixty percent of those surveyed blamed the cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan “a great deal” for its contribution to the debt, compared to 42 percent who cited the condition of the national economy, 24 percent who put the blame on domestic spending and 19 percent who pointed to tax cuts enacted in the last 10 years.
Apparently citizens believe programs such as ObamaCare, stimulus, bail outs, loans to banks, auto company take overs, bailing out Fannie and Freddie, huge expansions of welfare programs, another stimulus, homeowner bail outs, cash for clunkers and any number of other programs are free.

It also reflects the continued need by Republicans and Tea Party Patriots to keep pounding the message about overspending on entitlements.

I was against much of the George Bush funding for the expansion of Medicare for instance, but at least defense is an enumerated power and, notwithstanding the attempts at rewriting history, had the full blessings of the Congress (and the international community–except France, of course) for going into Afghanistan and Iraq.

Andy from Beaverton sends in this information from the Treasury website (here) on who actually has ramped up the spending. I know, I know YOU already know the full story, so send this info to that 60% out there who clearly do not. Send it quickly, OK?

Republicans in the House have spent half as much over budget as the Democrats.
