Mohamud Trial Side Bar: Oregon Muslim Activist Kicked Out of Courthouse

She has run for Congress,  been a Muslim activist and kicked out a citizen journalist from an “open” meeting of Muslims at a public university (Portland State).

And now Saba Ahmed knows what it feels like to get booted out of a public forum.

Ahmed has not only been tossed from the trial of accused terrorist Mohamed Mohamud for harassing family members and breaking cell phone rules, she’s been tossed from the overflow court room as well. And when she broke the rules there, according to a court document, she was tossed from the entire Mark Hatfield Federal Courthouse.

According to the document (see nearby),

“[Ahmed] violated court orders regarding the use of cell phones in the courtroom, she had failed to follow directions from the US Marshal, she has attempted to have inappropriate contact with the defendant’s family, and has interfered with the family’s ability to attend this trial without harassment.  I…find that excllusind Ms. Ahmed from entering the …Courthouse is the only appropriate option.”

Saba Ahmed Leaves Courthouse in 2010

She’s been booted out till further notice. A hearing is set for a couple months from now, well after the trial is done.

When Mohamud was arrested Ahmed was described as being a friend of the family.  Apparently she’s worn out her welcome.

Ripped Paper in Shape of Gun Gets Kid in Trouble at School

A ripped paper “gun” gets a kid in trouble at school. Surprised? You shouldn’t be. When you train kids that any “guns” are evil, you’re bound to get the pint sized school Stasi turning in their friends.  And simpleton Principals with zero tolerance rules don’t know what to do.

According to Philadelphia mother Dianna Kelly, who spoke with FOX 29 about the incident, her daughter, Melody Valentin, was given a sheet of paper by her

grandfather that was torn and folded to look like a pistol. When another student saw the fake gun, which Melody had thrown in the trash can, he alerted the teacher.

The teacher then went over the top when reprimanding Melody, Kelly told Fox 29, saying that he “should call the cops on her” and that she could “be arrested.”

Here’s the rest of the story.

Scott St. Clair: A U.S. President Goes Out of His Way to Make a Failure of History Repeat Itself

Wait, wait, wait…Back on September 6, 2012 didn’t President Obama say al Qaeda was on the run only to have that statement followed six days later by a successful al Qaeda attack on an American facility in Libya resulting in the deaths of Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three others? And a few days ago, didn’t an al Qaeda-linked group kidnap a couple dozen oil-field workers in Algeria, several of whom were Americans, most all of whom are now dead? What about what’s now happening in the African country of Mali, where the French are waging war against al Qaeda-affiliated groups in a land mass the size of Texas?

Yet yesterday during his inaugural address, President Obama lifts one of the most repudiated and wrong lines from 20th Century history when he quotes then-British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain and promises “Peace in our time” just as Chamberlain did after the disgraceful sellout of Czechoslovakia at Munich in 1938. (In the video of the Inaugural Address, start at about 14:50)

At the same time President Obama was saying that 10 years of war was over and “Peace in our time” is on the horizon, wasn’t outgoing Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta saying the U.S. must “fight back” against al Qaeda whenever and wherever? Was that Panetta’s way of giving the president the political finger on the way out the door? Johnny Paycheck would be proud.

What? Why then do these guys complain about Republicans not genuflecting to His Majesty when the Obama administration can’t get its own story straight? Even the most die-hard Obama supporter HAS to be mortified at the president’s choice of language and complete disregard of both history and current events. I’d laugh except too many have died as a result of the bungling.

Kurt Schrader’s Pretty Blue Unicorns

Blue Dogs: As Rare As Unicorns

Congressman Kurt Schrader is once again trying to pass himself as a Blue Dog (read: moderate) Democrat. This time it’s the Salem Statesmen Journal carrying his water. Sigh.

The paper reports that Schrader is trying to resurrect the dying Blue Dog Congressional coalition that he claims would “reach out to the other side” in settling the current fiscal debates in Congress.

“Who’s going to be helping our leadership when it comes time to put some of the difficult spending cuts on the table? Blue Dogs are ones that believe we have to look at spending…”

Spending cuts? Blue Dog Democrats? Who does he think he’s kidding?

Oregon’s 5th District representative voted for stimulus, spendulous, Cash for (fill in the blank) programs, ObamaCare and global warming cap and tax. You’d think those votes alone would forever mark him as a confirmed liberal, but the Statesman Journal is playing along with Schrader’s latest version of “I may vote far left but see, I CALL myself a ‘moderate’ so that must count for something” game.

Here’s what else he says about “reaching out to the other side:”

And [the coalition] would be especially helpful to Democratic leaders as they try to win support among liberals for unpopular entitlement cuts, he said. — and not take a meat ax to it as our Tea-Party buddies would,”

He name calls while supposedly ‘reaching out to the other side.” Classy. And phony. Just like his claim to moderation.
