Show Down At Clackamas County Commission Tomorrow

Want them to do the RIGHT thing? Show up.

County Commissioners’ Board Meeting
Tuesday, November 22nd – 10 AM
Commissioners’ Hearing Room – 4th floor
2051 Kaen Rd. Oregon City
Citizen Ultimatum to the Clackamas Board Of County Commissioners
From county wide residents of Clackamas County.

The BCC must:
1. Immediately pass a resolution withdrawing the county from the Inter-governmental agreement with TriMet, terminating all participation and requesting that TriMet not extend PMLR into Clackamas County. Withdraw any support or participation in the Portland-Lake Oswego Streetcar. This would allow the county to begin a new direction sooner rather than later.
Or
2.  Immediately place a measure on the May Ballot allowing county voters to decide the same.
This would be a needless waste of time and effort as the vote would likely be in excess of 80% supporting such a
measure against the PMLR, LO Streetcar and the rest of Portland’s plans for Clackamas County.
Or
3. Face an immediate citizen initiative petition, yet another battle against the voters of Clackamas County and another losing effort to obstruct the public will.

Ode To The Welfare State – 1949

In 62 years, nothing has changed.

This is from New York “Daily News” dated Friday, November 4, 1949.
Credited only to a “prominent Democrat of the State of Georgia”
DEMOCRATIC DIALOG

Father, must I go to work?
No, my lucky son.
We’re living now on Easy Street
On dough from Washington

We’ve left it up to Uncle Sam
so don’t get exercised.
Nobody has to give a damn
We’ve all been subsidized.

But if Sam treats us all so well
And feeds us milk and honey,
Please, daddy, tell me what the hell
He’s going to use for money.

Don’t worry, bub, there’s not a hitch
In this here noble plan
He simply soaks the filthy rich
And helps the common man.

But, father, won’t there come a time
When they run out of cash
And we have left them not a dime
When things will go to smash?

My faith in you is shrinking, son,
You nosy little brat;
You do too damn much thinking, son,
To be a Democrat.

Un-Occupy Portland Makes Its Debut

A group of folks calling themselves “Un Occupy Portland” Occupied the Occupy Portland march on Saturday. KOIN Local 6 reported on the counter protest.

Best sign ever

The organizers, who say they won’t give their names for fear of reprisals from Occupy Portland, deployed their signs (complete with a huge banner where they hat tipped Portlandia by putting several birds over Portland–complete with bird poop) and slogged along behind the Occupiers.
One counter protester said, “We’re small in numbers but at least we’re out here.”
Another told a citizen journalist, “The message is simple, we just want these endless protests to stop. When do you stop being able to protest about something? Is everything suspect [sic] to protest now? Seems like, you know, there are better ways to go about solving problems instead of making everyone else’s life a total pain in the butt.”

Cops Release Video of Occupy Portland Pepper Spray Incident

Oregonian Photo
The cops have released their video of the pepper spraying of the protester. It’s quite illuminating.
Screen Cap from Cop Shop video
Of course it’s a great photo and will be used undoubtedly for many photographic awards and –the iconic one from Occupy Portland of police pepper spraying a

protester–but as I’ve pointed out here what led to the spraying is the real story. You’ll see former Multnomah County Sheriff Bernie Giusto’s analysis at the linkalso in which he notes the police’s proximity to the walls of the Chase Bank.

Note the verbal warnings to the protesters to back up.

Occupy Portland: Cold Cocks a Police Bureau Horse

Cops back off protesters

He wore a raspberry beret and a blue jacket and then he cold cocked a police horse. That’s assault on a peace officer. Who was that guy?

Watch buy in blue jacket

Frame by frame and video below.

This is from the cop shop:

Police made repeated loud-hail commands and officers on the ground reiterated those commands for people to clear the street and leave the area. A confrontation occurred between a group of protestors who would not disperse. Projectiles were thrown at police and an unidentified man struck a police horse.

If you look at the video (below) you can see the protesters throwing projectiles at the cops.
