H/T Bruce McCain who points us to this website where the teachers union has announced layoffs. The TEACHERS UNION has announced layoffs??! Yes. Apparently the teachers union in Oregon will bully districts for higher salaries taxpayers can’t afford because of the recession and 16.9% U-6 unemployment rate around here, but acknowledges the hard times for itself. Four school districts have been on the brink of teachers strikes recently in Oregon: One is on strike: Eaglepoint. Gresham-Barlow, Beaverton and Reynolds districts have all threatened to strike for higher wages and benefits.

It reminds me of when ACORN was caught paying under the minimum wage but wanted a waiver because they said it was too expensive and if they had to pay more they wouldn’t be able to hire as many people. Durr.

Perhaps the unions took a little heat for once again divulging recently their salaries. Oops. And these are salaries from 2010!
