Here is where you can find the video. It’s not safe for work or kids. Ronald Stavas burst into the EGT company premises last Thursday morning about 4:30 with 500 other rampaging union members. Cowlitz County Sheriff’s PIO Grover Laseke told me Stavas used a pipe to smash his way in, threatened a guard, assaulted a guard and cut the brake lines on a train. From the press release:

Ronald Patrick STAVAS, 45, of Kelso was arrested last night on a Sheriff’s Office probable cause statement. Stavas was taken into custody without incident by Longview Police members of a Sheriff’s Office joint investigative team, which includes Sheriff’s deputies, Kelso, and Longview Police. Stavas was booked into the Cowlitz County Jail on four felony charges: burglary in the first degree, assault in the second degree, intimidating a witness, and sabotage. At his initial appearance in Cowlitz County Superior Court this morning, his bail was set at $50,000.00. He remains in custody at this time.

A woman was also arrested on misdemeanor charges for her actions on Wednesday when 400 other union members stormed the rail cars trying to bring in grain.

Also arrested on Monday was Shelly Ann PORTER, age 39, of Longview.  She was charged with criminal trespass in the second degree as a result of the blocking of the train on Wednesday, September 7.  She was booked and released on this misdemeanor charge and will be making an appearance in Cowlitz County District Court.
