UPDATED: Occupy Portland = Black Bloc

I’ve been amazed at the gullibility of the local media in adopting the absurd claim by Occupy Portland that Occupy has nothing whatsoever to do with the Black Bloc. They must be new here. Or maybe I’ve been following this stuff for one heckuva loooong time and it’s all so familiar to me that I can’t imagine others aren’t savvy to it.

I’ll have to start in the early 2000’s because that’s when I started paying close attention to who was doing what around here.

The reason that Occupy Portland is Black Bloc and Black Bloc is Occupy because they come from the same groups of longstanding in Portland. You can’t disavow Black Bloc without disavowing the soul of Occupy.

Racist Signs at “Peaceful” Response
Occupy Portland. Familiar sign, huh?

Back in the day the Portland “Peaceful” Response Coalition began to collect leftist groups into one coalition–an umbrella group–which would be in essence  a one stop leftosphere shopping center. They were notable for their drum-banging-Friday-at 4-confabs in downtown Portland.”Hey, hey, ho, ho: the (fill in the blank) has got to go!”

Bike “Swarm” = Critical Mass

At one time the “peaceful” response group listed its friends on its website. Those groups included, but were not limited to, Jobs with Justice–a socialist based union front organization. IWW aka: The Wobblies–an anarchist, socialist, radical labor unionist organization (to coin a phrase from wiki). The Earth Liberation Front--one of the most dangerous domestic terrorist groups in the country. They blew up trucks, car dealerships and torched apartment buildings.  As the investigation into “the family” showed, Oregon was ground zero for this group and its sister, The Animal Liberation FrontEarth FIRST! claimed affinity and vice versa with the “peaceful” response group. The last time we heard about these kooks they were sabotaging loggers and working with their buddies in the enviro movement to kill jobs.

Occupy Portland Anti Jewish

Voz–“Voice” in Spanish– claims affinity with the rest of these groups. They’re the ones behind the illegal alien job center at the corner of MLK and NE Everett. They are funded with tax dollars. They’re for no borders and no national sovereignty.

No Tax $ for Illegal Alien Job Center

Assorted Jew hating groups call the “peaceful” response coalition their home. Funny thing: they, too, showed up at Occupy.

The Occupy Portland “bike swarm” is an offshoot of and inspired by the anarchist bike group Critical Mass.

As I’ve pointed out over the years,  many of these groups have a home at St. Francis Church in SE Portland along 12th Avenue. St. Francis is just a hop, skip and a jump away from the Red and Black Cafe, the local anarchist coffee shop where a Portland Police Officer was kicked out because they ‘don’t serve cops here.’

The Victoria Taft Show brought coffee and pastries to the Red and Black and invited police officers. The City of Portland directed officers not to come. That KPAM logo looked great in front of the bigots at the Red and Black and, as you can see, not all cops stayed away. More than a few smiles were cracked at line up when officers were told about our efforts.

The efforts of Occupy Portland to distance themselves from their kindred, Black Bloc, are feeble and people who believe them are feeble minded. Black Bloc is the anarchist movement. These are all the same people: from Red & Black to PPRC to Voz to IWW to Jobs With Justice to Occupy. They not only ARE the same people, they all meet up at the same places. From PPRC to Red & Black to St. Francis to Occupy and back to St Francis again.

As I pointed out here in my post, “Occupy Portland, It’s Over,

The Occupy Portland folks wanted as many bodies as they could get out for their illegal march and illegal occupation. They went to their natural allies—the unionists, socialists, anti Jewish-Pro Palestinian activists, communists and anarchists among others—and invited them. And they came. And Occupied.  Now that the world is literally and figuratively sniffing the truth, these ‘leaders’ want to distance themselves from the mess they created.

They gave nothing to the cops and the Mayor’s office. No permits, no signatures, no indemnification, no map. They came with their bullhorns, bizarre call and response method of communicating and simply broke the law.

They made good on their promise of anarchy.

Official Portland bent over backwards to try and make their disregard for civility and the law seem noble. The day of the first protest and after they’d broken the law, Portland Mayor Sam Adams ‘thanked’ the protesters for their ‘cooperation.’

They invited the anarchists to Occupy Portland. The anarchists are Occupy Portland. To disavow the Black Bloc is to disavow the soul of Occupy.

There’s much more I could say here but I’ll save it for later.

In the meantime I’ll leave you with one piece of advice Portland: Get a clue.

**update Right after posting this, Daylight Disinfectant pointed me to his video showing an Occupy guy trying to assert the narrative that Occupy wasn’t responsible for vandalism. Despite no evidence supporting his self interested meme, the media bought it.
