Fox News is reporting U.S. Sending Disaster Rescue Teams to Haiti that was hit by a “catastrophic earthquake” measuring 7.0 today.

Several buildings, including the hospital and presidential palace collapsed during the strong quake.

Within mere hours, Barack Obama issued a statement, “My thoughts and prayers go out to those who have been affected by this earthquake. We are closely monitoring the situation and we stand ready to assist the people of Haiti.”

No word just yet whether or not Cuba and Venezuela, who are often touted as superior to America in medical care and general caring of people have offered any assistance.
