This is the second time Portland State University has been caught giving anarchists space to plot havoc in the city. We’re all about free exchange of ideas but these people have never thrown a protest that didn’t devolve into vicousness, vandalism and –at least–attempted violence. Just witness what happened at last year’s April 15th Tea Party at Pioneer Square when police caught wind of the Portland State University International Socialist Organization planning their vicious counter protests.
Portland State was asked then to cease and desist from allowing these groups to plot their violence on TAXPAYER PROPERTY. Nothing happened.

Now this response from PSU Communications Director, Scott Gallagher, to my producer Eric Peterson. Eric was asking Gallagher to come on the program to explain the University’s actions. He declined.
Our first inquiry was by phone. Here was the rest of the email chain:

In this case, a student was working on a personal project not part of a class curriculum. The student has been informed that the space can only be utilized to work on projects directly related to their studies.
