Todd Wynn of Cascade Policy Institute (here) told me about this on Earth Day. We’re all adults here. We’ve all seen how the left operates. Things aren’t done in a vacuum and all of their fondest “want to’s” always seem to become “have to’s,” don’t they? So it is with this idea from the Oregon DEQ (via Cal Berkeley, natch) to calculate your “carbon footprint.” Here’s a question to ask yourself: What will the state do with the information once it receives your calculations? That’s right, they’ll tax you. Cue George Harrison.

I’ve got an idea, how about the people who want to reduce their carbon footprint to save the world from “man made” global warming just ‘off’ themselves?
