In the book, Game Change, there’s another whopper that’s not getting alot of play. It’s the Bill Clinton quote (from Politico) which explained why Ted Kennedy was so peeved at Clinton:

[A]s Hillary bungled Caroline, Bill’s handling of Ted was even worse. The day after Iowa, he phoned Kennedy and pressed for an endorsement, making the case for his wife. But Bill then went on, belittling Obama in a manner that deeply offended Kennedy. Recounting the conversation later to a friend, Teddy fumed that Clinton had said, A few years ago, this guy would have been getting us coffee.

In contrast deposed Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott was complimenting a retiring colleague after 48 years in the Senate on the ThuIrmond’s 100 birthday:
“I want to say this about my state: When Strom Thurmond ran for president, we voted for him. We’re proud of it. And if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn’t have had all these problems over all these years, either,” Lott said at last week’s party.

Reid was complimenting Obama on his value to the party and skills:

…Obama — a ‘light-skinned’ African American ‘with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one,’ as he said privately.

Hey, I haven’t seen any of the usual stories about how racist Mormons are, or does that just appear when the Mormon is a Republican?

This from the party who has in the Senate, as one of its most beloved members, a former Grand Klegel of the Ku Klux Klan. (here). Look at the rest of these guys. They’re all democrats!
