Here’s a side note: prior to the announcement of the single A baseball deal (complete with luxury boxes in a new stadium) Portland area resident, Jim Karlock, commented on the story at the local paper. Karlock, who is a transportation, bonding and urban renewal watcher apparently did not meet with the approbation of the mayor. After several references by Karlock to stories of public financing of ball yards gone
awry (for taxpayers, anyway) Karlock saw this comment by the mayor:
