Where’s the SloBo & Cornilles Tape, Willamette Week?

One of the public services conducted by Willamette Week is to post endorsement interviews of most of the candidates running for office. These can be highly amusing to highly enlightening. But such is not the case with the Suzanne Bonamici and Rob Cornilles interviews. The special election for the First Congressional District, while the only election going on now, isn’t “worthy of posting.” Willamette Week has posted only six minutes of an 80 minute interview. Gee, why would they do that?

There’s a reason I call her SloBo. Bonamici looks weak and untalented, which she is. You can see that for yourself on any of the televised debates.

Here’s what the Cornilles campaign says you can see in the interview that Willamette Week won’t show you. And here’s a cautionary tale to other candidates: bring your own recorder next time.

Listen and you’ll hear Suzanne Bonamici:
  • Waffle on why she is running for Congress
  • Refuse to explain why she wants to take health care choices away from seniors
  • Fumble a question on what she will do in Congress to spur job creation
  • Refuse to say the Columbia River Crossing is her top transportation priority
  • Name a New Yorker when asked who she admires in Congress (no Oregon legislator?)
  • Oppose parental choice in education
  • Refuse to embrace a merit-based system for teachers
  • Claim she had no “close association” with David Wu despite calling him a “family friend” in 2010

…and much, much more.
