Washington Democrats Pull Off Political Triple Play

If you’re a sentient Washington voter you may be wondering if you’re relevant at all anymore. Powerful people, carpet baggers, and party bosses are making decisions on your behalf and you’ll be lucky to have an impact at the polls
er, the mailbox.

Take this triple play by the Democrats. It comes right out of medical marijuana smoke filled rooms somewhere in Democrat-land.

It’s been rumored for quite some time that Dennis Kucinich, Crackpot, Ohio, might parachute into Washington to run for Congress. Ohio lost two

Congressional seats in the last redistricting and Kucinich would have to square off in a high stakes game of musical chairs. Kucinich ended up on the floor in the March 6th election after being defeated by Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur.

But like those hounds who sniff out their families over hundreds of miles after being left at the rest stop, Kucinich is now sniffing his way to a new seat in Washington.

The possibility of Kucinich coming to Washington has left Republican Party leader, Kirby Wilbur, absolutely giddy. He told me on the program yesterday,

“Dennis, please come to Washington. We’ll pay your way. We’ll relocate you.”

In addition to a spanking new Congressional District which Kucinich believes bears his family’s scent, Washington has others to select from as well.

Norm Dicks is leaving his seat in the 6th CD which reaches from Tacoma to the coast. And “coincidentally,” over the weekend, Congressman Jay Inslee, Democrat, “retired” from his seat in the 1st Congressional District to run for Governor full time. He did so after the March 6th election to avoid a special election for his seat. It will now be filled in November giving someone a chance to mount a campaign. Kucinich lost on March 6th.

Wow, it’s like kismet or something, right?

While multi-millionaire Inslee is free to raise money and run for office now leaving his constituents without representation for the rest of the year, Governor Gregoire just called the legislature back into session. Legislators have been loathe to even hold meetings on the one thing that was their mission in the official session: the budget.

Washington got same sex marriage and wood stove bans from out out of nowhere but legislators couldn’t quite figure out how to do a budget. A special session must be in order, right?

Which comes to the third move in this triple play: While the legislature’s in session, Republican governor candidate, Attorney General Rob McKenna can’t raise money for his campaign.

It’s worth noting that McKenna has crossed swords with his Democrat Governor over ObamaCare.

Democrats have nationalized these races. Their party has made the moves to win. The Republicans could do well to remember that. And when you do, don’t leave the voters out of the equation.
