Couv.com broke the story of Vancouver businessman, Tom McCloud, owner of PIP Printing on Main Street asking about roadwork in front of his business and being told by a worker they were “putting in a new man hole to support light rail.”

At the August 8 city council meeting, city manager Eric Holmes was asked to address the “rumors.”

Holmes said, “It appears, through (CenturyLink’s) own volition, they made a choice to make some upgrades in anticipation of potential CRC investments in downtown.”

So, we have Century Link (formerly Qwest) deciding on their own, with no prompting from city or county people, to prepare their lines just in case Light Rail comes, right?
